ENTO468 Integrated Pest Management
(Class Number 66628)
Online Fall 2019
(Aug. 26 - Dec. 22)
Dr. Xianchun Li, Professor of Entomology and an expert in Integrated Pest Management (IPM), will teach ENTO 468 online Fall 2019. IPM refers to "Integrated Pest Management" which aims to train people to address pest management sustainably by first pro-actively dealing with the root cause of pest problems and then systematically escalating treatments as needed. This efficient strategy reduces environmental impacts and prevents unnecessary use of chemicals or collateral damage to ecosystems that destroy pests "at all costs". The system is commonly used in sustainable agricultural systems, urban landscapes and in an array of sectors from agriculture to school safety and public health. All majors are welcome. Enrollment is open now. For more information, contact Prof. Tanya Quist or the instructor, Dr. Xianchun Li.
