Happy Friday! Please review important reminders and upcoming opportunities, including must know info about Spring 2019 Priority Registration!

I highly recommend scheduling an appointment with me in advance of your enrollment appointment start date so we can make a plan of what classes to take next semester.

I will be out of the office next Monday, October 1st - Wednesday, October 3rd attending the National Academic Advising Association annual conference. My email response time may be a little slower during the conference days.

Oct 1 - Spring 2019 Schedule of Classes is live and Shopping Cart is available in UAccess<https://uaccess.arizona.edu/> Student Center

Oct 18 - Check UAccess Student Center for your assigned enrollment start date

NEW THIS YEAR! Once your enrollment appointment begins, you will have continuous enrollment access through the first week of classes in Spring.

Oct 29 -   Athletes, GI Bill Recipients, and senior/junior honors students
Nov 1 -    Seniors, Sophomore/Freshmen honors students
Nov 5 -    Juniors

Enrollment dates are assigned based on units completed (including transfer credit)
0 - 29 units = Freshman
30 - 59 units = Sophomore
60 - 99 units = Junior

How should I prepare?


  *   Check UAccess<https://uaccess.arizona.edu/> now for any to-do items or registration holds that will prevent registration
  *   Sign up for NetID+<https://it.arizona.edu/netid-plus>. Now required to access all campus services.
  *   Confirm your enrollment start date in UAccess beginning Oct 18
  *   Set a reminder on your calendar for your start date
  *    Schedule an Appointment<https://eagle.sbs.arizona.edu/advising/index.php?k=ad61ab143223efbc24c7d2583be69251#245> with your Academic Advisor ahead of time!
  *   Add classes to your UAccess shopping cart
  *   Use the "Check Eligibility<https://registrar.arizona.edu/sites/registrar.arizona.edu/files/documents/Check%20Eligibility.pdf>" feature in UAccess to verify that you are eligible for everything in your shopping cart
  *   Have some back up courses ready in case your first choice is unavailable

October 5 - Honors Convocation - no classes from 3 - 5 pm (Family Weekend).

October 12 -
*         Fall 2018 Change of Schedule form with instructor's permission to ADD or CHANGE classes is accepted until the end of the business day. After this, both instructor and Dean signatures will be required.
*         UAccess is still available to withdraw online through October 28.
October 15 -
*         All Change of Schedule forms to ADD or CHANGE classes require not only the instructor's signature indicating permission, but also the Dean's signature. By policy, permission from the Dean to make a registration change at this time requires an extraordinary reason.
*         UAccess is still available to withdraw online through October 28.

  1.  UA Campus Pantry


The goal of the UA Campus Pantry is to reduce food insecurity in our Wildcat Community. At their distribution events, students and staff can grab important food staples at no cost. All you need is your CatCard! To find the campus Pantry, turn left at the information desk located next to the UMart in the Student Union. Proceed down the stairs and you will see a sign for the UA Campus Pantry. They are open every Wednesday from 12:00PM - 7:00PM and Fridays from 11AM - 3PM during the academic year.

5)      Exciting Year-Round Undergraduate Research Opportunity: Apply Now - Nov. 1 deadline
The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Consortium (UROC<https://grad.arizona.edu/uroc/>) is offering a year-round undergraduate research opportunity to students graduating May 2020. Benefits include engagement in year-round research, close faculty mentoring, intensive graduate school preparation, a free GRE prep class, a $4,000 stipend, 10-units of academic credit, the opportunity to write a research article, and the chance to present research at a UA summer research conference. Summary

Responsibilities

Incumbent provides technical information, assistance and guidance to applicants, borrowers, lenders and others concerning eligibility and other requirements for loans, grants, and/or loan guarantee programs administered by USDA Rural Development.

     *   Reviews and analyzes various loan/grant-making and related documents for completeness and accuracy.
     *   Explains programs to customers and responds to technical inquiries from internal or external customers.
     *   Responsible for assigned loan/grant servicing functions, which may include researching payment information, monitoring delinquency and/or foreclosure reports or processing fee payments.
     *   Makes underwriting recommendations to the Loan Specialist when required.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including the following specialized experience and/or education, as identified by grade level.

For GS-06 Grade Level: Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05; or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates: the use of specialized clerical assistance to perform a full range of standard and non-standard assignments resolving a variety of non-recurring mortgage loan/grant problems and including a variety of assignments having different unrelated steps, processes, or methods such as processing mortgage loan/grant transactions for credit programs, commercial, real estate, or other loan/grant programs having similar characteristic but requiring the use of different steps, procedures or methods to complete the process. Experience may have been gained in work comparable to examining mortgage loan/grant program applications for completeness, discrepancies, meeting eligibility requirements, and other special requisites and working with legal instruments and documents, such as mortgages, deeds, titles, liens, promissory notes, and contractual obligations; processing loan payments, debt collection, or other similar work. There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-06 Level.

For GS-07 Grade Level: Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06; or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates: evaluative judgment within well defined, commonly occurring aspects of more than one type of functional specialization such as processing transactions for various and unrelated credit programs, commercial, real estate or other mortgage loan programs. Assignments operate using different sets of rules, regulations, and procedures and knowledge of such procedures is usually attained through extensive, increasingly difficult, and practical experience with the programs worked. Other types of qualifying experience may include review of financial documents ensuring compliance with loan agreements and legal descriptions, or other types of complex mortgage loan making or servicing experience. There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-07 Level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

     *   Skill in Planning, Scheduling, and Organizing Work
     *   Knowledge of Computer Applications
