Dear SPS and PLS Students - please consider the opportunity below as a way to gain knowledge skills and professional connection that could benefit you after graduation. The courses required for the McGuire Program could be applied as free electives in the major. More detailed information on the program is found below:


The McGuire New Venture Development Program is open to UA undergraduate and graduate students from all fields of study. Students in this yearlong, team-based program learn the principles of entrepreneurship and innovation through the hands-on process of building an innovation from an early stage idea to launch-ready venture. All students admitted into the competitive-entry McGuire Program take Venture Development I and II. We want to promote our program cross campus, and we believe that Sustainable Plant Systems majors would be a great fit.

Our 2019 application for the McGuire New Venture Development Program is now live! Attached to this email is our flyer for this year's application process. Please feel free to share with your students. I also wanted to provide you with our information session dates and application deadlines:

Information Sessions:
Join us for an information session about the McGuire New Venture Development Program. We want to answer all of your questions! Upcoming information sessions will be:

  *   Sept. 28, 2017 from 12pm-1pm in the McGuire Center, McClelland Hall. Rm. 202
  *   Oct. 9, 2017 from 5pm-6pm in the iSpace, Science-Engineering Library. Rm. 212
  *   Oct. 23, 2017 from 6pm-7pm in the Old Engineering Building. Rm. 210

*Pizza will be provided.

Application Deadlines:

  *   Priority applications due: Nov. 1, 2017.
  *   Final applications due: Jan. 25, 2018.

Interviews:
Up to 140 students who submit an application by each deadline may be invited to interview. Interview dates are:

  *   Priority application interviews: Nov. 18, 2017.
  *   Final application interviews: Feb. 3, 2018.
