Paid Student Position
The U.S. Geological Survey, Arizona Water Science Center, located on The University of Arizona campus at Park Ave and 6th St is looking for a motivated student to work with the water use team.
Overview:

•         Pay $12.00 to 14.00 depending on experience.

•         Work with the water use team on various projects.
 Eligibility:

•         Preferred at least two years left till graduation.

•         Federal background check required.

•         U.S citizenship or Valid student visa (with work eligibility approval) required.

•         Must meet employment eligibility requirements for the University of Arizona and federal employment.
Time requirement:

•         Operating hours are Mon-Fri, 7 am - 4 pm with work scheduled around classes

•         Part-time during semester (10 to 25 hrs per week), preferred >2.5hr block of time.

•         Full-time during the summer and other breaks (up to 35 hrs per week).
Required skills and qualifications:

•         Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. able to maximize efficiency while creating PowerPoint presentations and working in Excel spreadsheets).

•         Basic GIS skills (e.g. digitizing, joins, overlays).

•         Interest in water use.
Preferred skills and qualifications:

•         Knowledge of Microsoft Access with ability to build new databases.

•         Advanced GIS.

•         Understanding of remote sensing.

•         Programming (python or VBA).

•         Historical and current understanding of Arizona water.

•         Interest in agriculture.
