JOUR 472/572 Science Journalism
Mon. & Wed. 3-4:30 p.m.
Open to undergraduate and graduate students in all majors


·         Work with Professor Carol Schwalbe, a former National Geographic editor, and Dr. Cecil Schwalbe, a research ecologist.

·         Learn how to communicate with the public about science, technology, nature, the environment, medicine and health.

·         Go on a field trip. Interview researchers and observe science in action.

·         Gain career skills that will give you a competitive edge. Learn how to pitch a story to a newspaper or magazine.

·         Write science stories. Shoot photos. Create a simple infographic.

No prerequisites
3 credits
Mondays and Wednesdays 3–4:30 p.m.
