The CALS Ambassador program will have an information session on Tuesday February 16th at 7am in Saguaro Hall 219. The session will serve to inform interested students about the requirements and benefits of the CALS Ambassador Program. Potential candidates will have several opportunities to experience recruitment, community and industry events from an Ambassador point of view this Spring to prepare them for the Fall 2016 application process.

The CALS Ambassador Program is a premier leadership and communications development program in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS). The primary goal of the CALS Ambassador program is to prepare members to be highly desirable candidates for entry level management training positions or for highly selective graduate or professional programs upon graduation by developing their practical leadership and communication skills. CALS Ambassadors serve as the student "face" of CALS to stakeholders and prospective students at university, community and industry events across Arizona and throughout the nation.

The CALS Ambassador program is centered around the development of the "soft skill cluster" which was recognized by the APLU in their 2011 study "Comparative analysis of soft skills, What is important for new graduates". The Ambassador program is highly selective with membership limited to no more than twenty active Ambassadors. Once admitted, members are appointed on a semester by semester basis and may serve as Ambassadors as long as they continue to meet the semesterly requirements. For this reason, new members are recruited only when there is capacity in the group. Due to member graduation, the CALS Ambassador Program will have ten open positions in Fall 2016.

The Ambassador Program is open to all CALS students with a minimum 3.0 UA GPA and must have have a minimum of three semesters remaining in their academic program (including Fall 2016).
