Description of research to be done by student (in layman's terms):
Molecular genetics of salt tolerance in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana and a salt-tolerant relative, Eutrema salsugineum.

Requirements:
Student must have taken MCB 181R/L, 182, and introductory chemistry.  Student must have blocks of time for work of at least two hours several days a week.
