[Plsugs] PLS330 Plant Propagation will be offered Fall 2013

Hi all,

A change in the units and title of PLS330 has delayed the process of getting
this class into the course catalog before priority registration. 

However, PLS330 will be offered this Fall as a 4 unit class.  The new course
will combine PLS330 Plant Propagation with PLS339 Nursery Systems
Management. 

Consider reserving space in your Fall 2013 schedule for this hands-on and
practical plant biology class.

Plant Propagation, Production & Management

PLS 330 (4 credits)

Dr. Tanya Quist and Dr. Ursula Schuch

Lectures: T/Th 11:00am‐12:30pm

Lab: T 1:00pm‐4:00pm

This course covers comprehensive plant wholesale production systems from
propagation through operations to salable horticultural crops, including
trees, shrubs, succulents and herbaceous plants. 

You will learn:

* Principal propagation techniques including seeds, cuttings, budding and
grafting.

* Sustainable cultural practices and environmental controls in horticultural
crop

production and marketing.

* Planning, resource allocation and development of a nursery growing
operation
