This club is a good opportunity to gain experience in outreach and teaching
the community about science. It would be very much appreciated. Let me know
if you can send this information.
The BIO5 Ambassadors' first meeting of the semester is Friday, January 25th!
We are currently recruiting new members interested in the five disciplines
of BIO5 research:
Medicine
Engineering
Agriculture
Pharmacy
Basic Sciences
The BIO5 Ambassadors are an interdisciplinary science club that promotes
science literacy through education and community outreach.
Our activities over the last few semesters have included tours of the labs
at the BIO5 Institute, promoting science at local community events, a pen
pal program with elementary school students, and performing experiments for
local schools to help get kids interested in science. We also have social
events planned this semester, including our trip to Biosphere2.
Since the BIO5 Ambassadors are affiliated with the BIO5 Institute, members
are often the first to know about employment and research opportunities.
This is also a great opportunity to network with other scientists in and
around Tucson!
If you are interested in being a BIO5 Ambassador, please join us at our
general information meeting on Friday, Sept. 7th at 4pm in room 103 of the
BIO5 Institute
(located in the Thomas W. Keating building on the corner of Helen and
Cherry).
There will be FREE FOOD provided.
