HYBRID COURSE FOR FALL 2013

JOUR 472/572 SCIENCE JOURNALISM

MON. & WED. 3-4:15 P.M.

*	Study with Professor Carol Schwalbe, a former National Geographic
editor.

*	About half the classes will be face-to-face, the other half online.

*	Visit the Mt. Lemmon SkyCenter for after-dark viewing of the cosmos
through a 32-inch telescope.

*	Gain career skills that will give you a competitive edge. Write
science articles for newspapers and magazines. Learn to design and produce
infographics. You may also produce short documentaries, photo essays, audio
slideshows or other projects for the Web.

*	You can cover science, technology, nature, the environment, or
medicine and health.

*	Interact with prominent science journalists and scientists.

*	Open to graduate and undergraduate students in any major. No
prerequisites. 3 credits.
