Everyone did a great job this weekend helping to clean out the donated
aquaponics gear, and start reorganizing the greenhouse after an unfortunate
power loss that cost us a lot of crops! Everyone except me (Dan), since I
didn't make it :(

This week will be another crazy double meeting megamix.  Most of the
officers will be headed to the Farmer's Market at Maynard's at 9am, with the
hopes of making it to the greenhouse by 11:00-11:15.  If you arrive at the
greenhouse and the officers aren't there yet, just let yourself in and start
getting down to business!  If you don't know the password just email me and
I'll set you up.

Farmer's Market, 9AM-1PM, 400 North Toole Ave. - Tara, Amber, Jacob and I
will definitely be at the Maynard's Farmer's Market representing our club
and bringing in the dollar bills. We would greatly appreciate additional
helping hands, but we will be there getting the job done regardless. We will
also be meeting with the head Chefs at Maynard's to discuss supplying their
kitchen with local produce. 

Greenhouse, 11:15PM-2:30PM, 1951 E. Roger Rd - Several officers will lead a
meeting at the GH.  Besides working in the GH, members will help unload
materials and weigh tomatoes once the Farmer's Market team arrives back at
the CEAC around 1:30PM.  Everyone should be able to take home leftover
unsold produce as their reward for helping out! Officers might leave earlier
than 2:30, but you are welcome to stay longer and continue working if you
wish.

Short Course Welcome Reception. RSVP by Friday, noon, April 5, 2013 to Aaron
Tevik at atevik at cals.arizona.edu or 520-626-9566.  The CEAC is also looking
for volunteers to help with the Short Course on several days next week. You
will be able to attend many of the workshops for free in exchange for
volunteering! Contact Aaron for details about volunteering. 

April 15th -

15th 3:00-4:30pm - The National Greenhouse Manufacturers Association will be
meeting in Tucson and will hold a reception of food and drink at the CEAC.
Come mingle with industry professionals and learn about potential careers!!
Don't forget to RSVP!!

Please consider getting involved in those events at the CEAC.  They can
really use some extra help, and they should provide excellent opportunities.
Also, I'll be there volunteering so we can hang out and have so much fun :)

About the Alliance 

CEASA is a group of undergraduate and graduate students interested in
hydroponics and controlled environment agriculture. Members are from many
majors, some not even in the sciences. All students are welcome.
