****** ANNOUNCEMENT ******

 

The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Consortium (UROC) programs are
designed to prepare for the rigors of graduate school and give them the
skills and motivation to apply to top graduate schools/ programs.  UROC
provides participants with excellent research training and graduate school
preparation, as evidenced by the high percentage of UROC alumni who have
successfully entered and completed master's and Ph.D. programs. Many of
these programs begin in the summer and also have a year-round component,
enabling students to continue to engage in research throughout the next
academic year (2012-2013); some programs are summer-only.  Please visit the

BENEFITS  

.         A faculty mentor and research project

.         A salary or stipend of at least $3000

.         Academic credit (up to six units, at no cost to the student)

.         Graduate school preparation (including a free, intensive GRE
workshop)

.         Professional development workshops on research ethics, public
speaking, funding for graduate education

.         Presentation at a Research Conference, including a poster session

 

Typical ELIGIBILITY requirements

.               Class standing

.               US citizen or permanent resident

.               3.0 GPA or above

.               Strong interest in pursuing graduate education, particularly
in earning a master's or PhD.
