ANTH 395B - Special Topics in Cultural Anthropology
ANTH 395B, Section 1
Title: Sustainable Lives and Livelihoods: Food and Water in Latin America
Instructor: Linda Green
Day/Time: TuTh 12:30PM - 1:45PM
R P Harvill Bldg, Rm 319
This course examines the impact of international, national and local
policies and practices of access to and distribution of food and water on
ordinary people's lives and livelihoods in several countries in Latin
America. Though an examination of policy papers, ethnographies and
historical work the class will explore through the tripartite
anthropological lens - race/ethnicity, gender and class - the ways in which
people respond to and make sense of the critical issues they face every day
in terms of production, consumption, social and cultural reproduction of
food and water.
Best, Ann
