Dear Students,
Tomorrow (2/16/11) there will be an informational session about Studying
Abroad in Italy from 2:30-3:30 in the Picacho Room of the Union.
This is a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more about studying
abroad for summer and semester programs.
If you are specifically interested in the Summer Arizona in Italy Program
(Orvieto, Italy). There will be some faculty joining this meeting to discuss
their classes and provide additional information about their program. The
deadline for this program is March 1st and applications can be requested
here: http://studyabroad.arizona.edu/apply
A few examples of subjects offered this summer in Orvieto and who to contact
in regards to these classes are below:
1.
COMM 318 (Persuasion).this course looks at how the persuasion process works
(or doesn't work!). We will define key ideas that help us understand
persuasion, look at messages that attempt to persuade, and study theories
that seek to explain how and why those messages persuade. We will do all
this in Italy and go on field trips too!
COMM 417A (Relational Communication). Many artists have attempted to explain
how and why relationships work (or do not work!). This course offers a
social scientific perspective on human relationships. Using Italy and its
wonderful art as inspiration, we will explore the factors that influence
human relationships. We will do all this in Italy and go on field trips too!
Contact: Kyle Tusing at kjt at email.arizona.edu for more details
2.
Love to write? Come to Orvieto this summer and earn college credit while
writing about your new experiences. Love movies? Come to Orvieto and study
literature and film at the same time. Love Shakespeare? The Bard wrote about
Italy even though he never even went there. In short, the Arizona in Italy
program will change your life. Former students are now engaged to Orvietani,
planning future trips, or looking for jobs in Rome. Why not come along?
