Subject: Courses for Spring

For All Campus Advisors:

Here are some courses that may be of interest to many students. I especially
call your attention to the first one, Natural Sciences (NATS) 101,
Introduction to Environmental Science. I encourage you to forward this to
appropriate students and/or print the attached flyers for posting.

Thank you,

Jim Riley

Classes to consider and/or recommend

1. NATS 101, Introduction to Environmental Science -for non-science
majors,
co-taught by Drs. Tom Wilson, Allan Matthias, Charles Gerba and J.J. Riley.
This class is listed 71-78 of the NATS 101 classes, placing it at the bottom
of the listing. The accompanying slide summarizes the positive aspects of
this course.

2. SWES 397a, Teaching Workshop -for students Preceptoring for SWES
Classes.
For SWES majors it serves as one of the required options. For all it is a
course which develops your teaching skills and helps make the preceptored
classes more student-centered. See the accompanying slide for more details.

3. SWES 454/554, Water Harvesting -for students seeking a course that
emphasizes learning by doing. Offers students opportunity to design and
implement water harvesting projects on- and off-campus. See the accompanying
slide for more details.
