with state of the art imaging, genomics and metabolomics core facilities managed by well-qualified and highly collaborative academic coordinators. The research themes at UCR range from fundamental biological questions to translational and applied research.
The activities of the centers, and the Department of Botany and Plant Sciences provide ample opportunities for professional development. The successful candidate will work on shoot apical meristem development. The initial position is for 2 years and could

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">My lab focuses on deciphering the transcriptional regulation [Rodriguez et al., 2022,
<i>Science Advances</i>. 12;8(32):eabo6157; Plong et al., 2021, <em>Nature Commun</em>
<strong>12, </strong>6361 (2021) and the regulation of growth patterns during shoot apical meristem development (<span style="color:black;background:white">Banwarth-Kuhn et al., 2022,
<i>PLoS Comput Biol</i>. 2022 Jun 21;18(6):e1010199.]. We combine basic molecular, biochemical and cell biological analysis with mathematical modeling (with our collaborators) to obtain a quantitative understanding of the signaling, transcription and growth
patterns (<a href="https://venureddylab.bitbucket.io/">https://venureddylab.bitbucket.io/</a>). To obtain dynamical data needed for developing and testing the model predictions, we employ transient genetic/chemical perturbations and live imaging. There will
be opportunities to collaborate and develop skills in the area of image analysis.

should be open to collaborations with our team of mathematicians and computer scientists. Proficiency in molecular biology, plant transformation and genetics, and biochemistry is essential. Experience in confocal microscopy is desirable.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
