The Linking Edible Arizona Forests (LEAF) on the UA campus project is
seeking an enthusiastic graduate student with great organizational
skills for a half-time graduate assistantship for the spring 2015
semester. The position will likely have the option of
continuing into the 2015-16 academic year, as the project received a
green light from the UA Green Fund during the pre-proposal stage
yesterday. The position requires the student to work 20 hours a week and includes a full tuition waiver. </p>

The graduate student will provide primary leadership for the 2015 citrus
harvests (spring) and related activities, including team meetings. The
student will assist with marketing the resulting products created from
the harvests and help develop a cost-benefit
analysis to guide economic sustainability of future harvests. The
student will work closely with the four undergraduate interns who assist
with this project, and with the three Pis who lead it, Drs. Melanie
Lenart, Tanya Quist and Barbara Eiswerth.</p>

The LEAF on the UA Campus project involves a partnership between the
Department of Soil, Water and Environmental Science, the Campus
Arboretum, and the Iskashitaa Refugee Network. Other collaborators
include Facilities Management, Dining Services, the University
of Arizona BookStores, and Queen Creek Olive Mill. </p>
