I'm
writing to let you know that our new graduate students are arriving. I
will be contacting some of you to ask if you might please serve as a
'peer mentor' for an incoming student -- please stay tuned, and thank
you in advance for helping to welcome Andrea, Kelly, Seth, Liz, Parker,
and Lourena: our incoming class for fall 2014.<br>
<br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small">Also, I'd
like to let you all know about a very nice opportunity. The Bart Cardon
scholars will offer an informal training/perspective on teaching for
graduate students on Wednesday, Aug. 20, from 11:30am to 1pm in the
Ventana Room of the Student Union. This is open to all graduate students
and I understand that food will be provided. Attendance is not
required, but you are encouraged to participate. Please contact Dennis
Ray with any questions, and please email Georgina to reserve a place.
