<div><br></div>First, Dr. Sheng-Yang He has been invited to give a talk for our seminar series on December 10. Awesome! Thank you for taking the time to look over the potential speakers research and casting your votes, and thanks to Dr. Orbach for taking the time to contact all of our potential speakers. There was a tie for most wanted between Dr. Sheng-Yang He and Dr. Spatafora - but Dr. Spatafora has been invited recently, so it was decided that Dr. Sheng-Yang He would be invited this semester.<br>
<br></div>Also, I would like to invite you all to monthly meetings, on the first Tuesday of each month at 4:00PM (before seminar), starting September 3rd. In addition to getting ourselves organized at the start of this year, this will give us the opportunity to welcome our new students, express how we can best utilize our club status, and provide us time to catch up and chat for a bit. I will send out a reminder note with the meeting location as the date approaches. Kayla, Jen, and Josh - please let me know if you are unable to attend so we can arrange a separate meeting.<br>
<br></div><div>Finally, I'd like to start planning regular, extracurricular get-togethers for all those interested. It would be nice to hang out and get to know each other in an off-campus setting. Lets talk about possibilities during our first meeting on Sept. 3rd.<br>
