One more hello, grad students --<br><br>I'm writing with one more funding note for you. <br><br>If you are a Ph.D. student who has passed your comprehensive exams, you are eligible to apply for an NSF Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grant. This requires a formal proposal (submitted by you and your advisor, with your advisor participating <b>VERY</b> actively) and must be routed through Sponsored Projects, which means that you need to plan ahead (as though the deadline were one week before the NSF deadline). The NSF deadline is Nov. 9. Please let me know if you plan to apply.<br>
<br>These prestigious awards provide research funds (not stipend support) and are only open to Ph.D. students who have advanced to candidacy. However, one need not be a US citizen to apply.<br><br>Details can be found here:<br>
