Dear SPLS faculty and graduate students,

We still have two slots to fill in the interview days for each candidate for our open Assistant Professor of Practice position - please sign up to meet with one or more candidate(s) if you are available so that you will be able to provide more nuanced/in depth feedback to the search committee about the suitability of each candidate for this role.

Thank you to the three faculty (Drs. Wickramage, Palanivelu, and Woodson) who aren't on the search committee and who are not administrators who have signed up to meet with the candidates so far. It would be great to see additional support for the process and people who may become a future SPLS faculty member.

Dear SPLS faculty and graduate students,

We have invited three candidates for our open Assistant Professor of Practice in Biotechnology and Plant and Microbial Sciences position<https://arizona.csod.com/ux/ats/careersite/4/home/requisition/21249?c=arizona> to interview with us for one day each, via Zoom. The dates are Tuesday February 4, Wednesday February 5, and Monday February 10.

Please consider interacting with the candidates during their visits through one or both of these methods:

  1.  Attend their seminar via Zoom. They've been asked to split their seminar time between introducing themselves to our community and giving a teaching demonstration on a topic of their choice, aimed as if the audience were junior- and senior-level undergraduate students enrolled in a course they were teaching and who are pursuing a degree in biotechnology. I have attached .ics files that you can use to add the seminar days/times and Zoom links to your calendar.
  2.  Meet with them for 30 minutes over Zoom (can sign up as individuals or in pairs or groups). Please use the links below to sign up for a slot. You will need to provide a Zoom link for you and the candidate to use for your meeting.

You can find additional information and signup links, below. Please keep the status of these individuals as candidates for this position confidential - do not share this information with people outside of our unit or on social media, etc.
