Dear colleagues,



You’ll recall that, Sharon Collinge and I sent a message advertising an
opportunity for PhD students to apply to an international graduate student
training program on Food Systems research, with an application deadline of
March 21.



Today, we’re sharing a *new opportunity* that is similarly a collaboration
among 13 universities globally focused on water-related challenges. The
project is called “INITIATE” and applications are now open for the *PhD
2025* cohort!



We are excited to announce that applications are now open for the *INITIATE
for PhD 2025* cohort!



The *INITIATE Platform for PhD candidates* is a pioneering initiative aimed
at building an *international, intercultural, and interdisciplinary network*
of PhD scholars working on *water-related challenges*. This unique platform
connects *PhD students and mentors from 13 prestigious universities
worldwide*, including three *UNESCO International Centers* in *Delft,
Dundee, and Montpellier*.

Canada, France, Ireland, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Netherlands, Senegal, South
Africa, Spain, UK, or the US
✔ Proficiency in *English*
✔ Commitment to *active participation* over *18 months*, including online
seminars, working groups, and in-person workshops
✔ Submission of a *support letter from your PhD supervisor*
