Hi All,

I am sending you a reminder of the two Interim Director Candidate discussions today at 11 am and 2 pm in Saguaro 219. Your input is valued, and we hope you will be able to attend.  The meetings and zoom links are below.

I am attaching a copy of the evaluation rubric form to this email and there will also be hard copies available at the review.

Here is a bit of information about the evaluations:


  *   The deadline for submission is tomorrow, Friday 1/19 at 4 pm.
  *   They may be submitted in a box in the SPLS office on the counter, or by email to Jean McLain at mclainj at arizona.edu<mailto:mclainj at arizona.edu>
  *   Dean Burgess requests and expects comments to help drive his decision-making
  *   The candidates are NOT expected to discuss all issues in your meetings
     *   The form is going to all who are meeting with the candidates
     *   Specific areas will apply to different meetings
     *   Mark N/A for those not discussed
  *   If you were unable to attend one of the presentations, you are still welcome to submit an evaluation. Please indicate that on your assessment but I have been assured that that doesn’t make your opinions less valued.
  *   Feedback will be compiled and anonymized by Jean McLain, before sharing with Dean Burgess
  *   Names of those submitting comments will be kept completely confidential

Subject: Save the Date: Meetings with Interim Director Candidates Thursday 1/18 at 11 am and 2 pm
Hi All,

We will be holding 30-minute discussions this week, for Staff and Graduate students, with our two Interim Director candidates, Judy Brown and Ramin Yadegari. The discussions will be hybrid meetings, in-person and by Zoom.

We will send out the rooms for these meetings and the zoom link later, but please put these meetings on your calendar and attend if possible. This is your opportunity to ask questions of the candidates and hear their plans for leading the unit if they are selected.

There will be evaluation forms both as a hard copy and an electronic copy for you to provide feedback after the meetings.

This is your opportunity to provide feedback on the future of the School of Plant Sciences so we look forward to your participation.
