There is an old Chinese Curse: "May you live in interesting times!". They are interesting indeed, locally and globally, and this can be very discouraging.
However, at this point, it is also worth stepping back and reflecting on our collective achievements as a School. We are making great progress in instruction, research, and service, and without your contributions, none of this progress would be possible. I remain optimistic that current University-wide budgetary problems will be resolved, and that we can look forward to continued growth in our collective activities to the benefit of ourselves, our stakeholders, and our state.
Let me sincerely thank you all for what you do, and what you have achieved.
Best wishes at this Thanksgiving Holiday!
David
