[Plsgs] Retreat updates

Hello everyone,

You might guessed it, but the financial troubles shaken our planned retreat quite a bit. However, despite all the budget cuts we will have the retreat on December 7./8. 2023 with the envisioned program. To compromise with the financial constraints, we search now for a location on campus, which is much cheaper.

It was important to us that we can still give out all the award money to students and postdocs. So, keep applying/nominating for the best paper award for grad students and postdocs until November 15. The poster awards will also be given out during the retreat.

We will also get you served with decent food, just it will be from the campus kitchen. PI’s will be requested to pay a small food contribution for participating grad students that are not part of SPLS programs or ABBS students rotating through SPLS labs.

Last but not least, thanks to David for making this happen and we will update you with more details over the next days.
