Dear faculty and students:

Please join me in thanking Dr. Schmidt for her service as Director of Graduate Students over the last two years. This is a difficult and time-consuming activity, but it is essential for the smooth progression of our next generation of students towards post-graduate success.  Thank you, Monica, for all you have contributed!

As you all know, Amanda Amendaris has her last day tomorrow, since she has been promoted to a position of significantly more responsibility outside of our college, but still within UA.  We wish her all the best in her continuing career! Her move at this time raises some urgent sequencing questions for some of the graduate students, which I have decided can be best resolved by Dr. Mark Beilstein now assuming the role of Director of Graduate Studies, effective May 5, rather than at the end of the semester.  Let me know if you have any concerns.
