The Impact Leader professional development program is designed for CALS graduate students and has been tremendously impactful to the students who have previously completed the training (cohort 1<https://cals.arizona.edu/news/program-hones-cals-grad-students%E2%80%99-vital-leadership-skills-workplace>, cohort 2<https://cals.arizona.edu/news/self-nominations-open-spring-impact-leader-professional-development-training>). The 24 Fellows in each cohort represent the premier graduate students across the diverse disciplines of the College; therefore, it is an honor to be selected as an Impact Leader Fellow. As a cohort, Fellows will gain knowledge in developing effective teams, communicating with diverse individuals and navigating their careers. Additionally, Fellows will be matched with industry coaches who can give them industry perspectives, help to build a professional network, and highlight the skillsets required to be successful.
This year we will continue the student self-nomination process. Students can apply at https://career.cals.arizona.edu/channels/graduate-students/. Each Unit has at least two slots reserved for their students; however, if we don't receive applications from a particular program, these slots will be granted to applicants from other programs. Additional details can be found on the attached document. Sometimes our best students are too modest to step forward, so please encourage them to apply to the program.
