I am Andrew Tang, a PhD student in the GIDP Neuroscience program. I am the founder of the Scholar Power Hour, which is student led, and student council sponsored. My team and I are planning our first event sponsored by the Graduate and Professional Student Council that is aimed at bringing together graduate students from diverse disciplines across the college. Would you be able to forward this message below to your students in your program? This event is also partnered with the Graduate Center.

Calling all Graduate Students! We are the Scholar Power Hour and we would like you to come be a part of an insightful discussion amongst other graduate students.

Briefly, the Scholar Power Hour is an event that gathers graduate students of diverse disciplines to have a centralized discussion on a given theme. The hope is to obtain different perspectives on a certain issue so we can all gain insight on a particular topic through our own diverse areas of expertise.



The Scholar Power Hour takes place every other Wednesday at 3PM at the graduate center (Cherry & 1st). The first meeting will be on February 9th and the topic will be on social media and psychological development. The list of topics and more information can be found on the attached flyer. Feel free to stick around and socialize with other grad students after the event as well! Undergrads and professional students are also welcome! Please note, the room is limited to 24 occupants due to current COVID guidelines.
