Invitation to Participate in the TA Mentorship Panel (TAMP)

Hello,

Are you a graduate student who:

  * Enjoys teaching and believe you could help others improve their own teaching?
  * Would like to gain leadership and mentorship experience beyond your teaching?
  * Enjoys working with other graduate students and faculty to build a solid support system for TAs across campus?

The Graduate College has enlisted us (Amy Graham and Michelle Herridge) to build an infrastructure of materials and professional development opportunities to assist in the training and mentoring of Graduate TAs across campus in their teaching roles. As a part of this process, we are constructing a TA Mentorship Panel (TAMP) to help build a community of GTAs to help us accomplish this goal while creating leadership opportunities for experienced Teaching Assistants. We envision these leadership opportunities to include:

  * Consolidating resources and professional development opportunities
  *   Updating/editing the website
  * Assisting in TA Learning Communities
  * Providing observations and feedback for less experienced TAs
  * Overseeing discussion groups for TAs
  * Organizing social and/or networking events
  * Providing insights into training materials and programming for professional development activities

If you are interested or would like to learn more, please contact us!

Thanks,
Amy Graham (grahama at arizona.edu<mailto:grahama at arizona.edu>)
Michelle Herridge (mdhh99 at arizona.edu<mailto:mdhh99 at arizona.edu>)

Dr. Amy L. Graham (she/her/hers)
