Dear all,

I am sending out a reminder that the tidyverse workshop is Feb. 18 from 1-2:30 in PAS 416. PAS is the Physics and Atmospheric Sciences building located just across E. 4th St (see map below). I will open the room at 12:30, so if you have any questions or issues with downloading R and RStudio, please feel free to come early or email me at eabowman at email.arizona.edu<mailto:eabowman at email.arizona.edu>.

I will be tailoring this workshop both for people who have never used R before and for those who do use R, but aren't familiar with tidyverse. Tidyverse is a collection of packages that acts as an alternative to the base set of commands in R. They can be used for manipulating and reshaping data frames or creating plots. I think it is useful to have this set of skills as you can change and manipulate you data files in R without actually changing your original files as you would in Excel. Some basic skills you will learn are
·  Importing data into RStudio
·  Manipulating data
·  Exporting data from RStudio
·  Data visualization
For this workshop, you will need a computer and to have installed R and RStudio. The links to download these are below.

As a heads up, I will be observed by a few of my peers and professors from the Office of Instruction and Assessment as part of this workshop. You won't have to interact with them. They will just be observing. Thank you again for your support and I hope to see you there.
