This spring, Women in Optics (WiO), Women in Science and Engineering (WISE), and the Women in STEM Student Council (WiSSC) are organizing the student symposium Launching Your Career Symposium on March 15th, 2019 as well as the Science and Engineering Excellence Banquet on March 14th, 2019. We are excited to announce the 2019 Launching Your Career Symposium, to be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 in Tucson, AZ and hosted by Women in Optics (WiO), Women in Science and Engineering (WISE), and the Women in STEM Student Council (WiSSC)!

Launching Your Career Symposium
Date: Friday, March 15, 2019

The symposium welcomes all STEM Undergraduates, Graduates, Post Docs, and staff members at the University of Arizona to participate in panel discussions with accomplished leaders in both industry and academia, a networking lunch, and a workshop on "Employing your strengths: Identifying them, applying them, and getting them hired".  Registration <https://wio.typeform.com/to/mNBYK6> is free! A limited number of attendee spots are still available, so we encourage all to register soon.

The panel in the morning will be more focused on careers in academia while the panel in the afternoon in industry. Women in Optics will also be providing attendees with free copies of StrengthsFinders2.0<https://www.gallupstrengthscenter.com/Home/en-US/StrengthsFinder> books! The results of a quick strengths assessment will be utilized during the workshop.

Everybody is welcome to attend the full event or some of the sessions. Breakfast and lunch (with vegetarian options) will be provided.

We also invite everybody to the Science and Engineering Excellence Banquet<http://wise.arizona.edu/see-banquet>.  The banquet will be held on Thursday, March 14th, 2019 and everyone is welcome to submit <https://wio.typeform.com/to/DPUdme> titles/abstracts for the poster session (there are prizes for presenters)!
