[Plsgs] Speaker Invitations and Kegball Match vs EEB

Dear SPLS graduate students,

This is a reminder that today is the last day to nominate an external
speaker to invite for a Spring semester seminar presentation!  *Only three
people have recommended speakers*, so chances are good that your speaker
will be voted for.   Again, here is the link for the google doc:

*IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:*

The EEB grad club challenged our SPLS grad club to a Kegball match on
October 6th!

Here is what they wrote:  "We would like to challenge your department grads
and postdocs to a fun kegball (kickball with a keg on second base) game on Oct
6th. Going forward we'd like to make this an annual event and we have a big
trophy that the winner hangs on to between annual matches. We've already
reserved a field and beer permit (Mansfield Park) from the city of Tucson.
We'll bring two kegs (PBR and Mirror Pond) and then ask for donations to
defray the costs ($2 bucks to play, $5 to play and drink a cup or two and
$10 bucks to play and drink unlimited beer)"

This will be great practice for our Kickball match vs Faculty later in the
