[Plsgs] FW: Notes from first meeting of SPLS grad club

Hi fellow grad students - Thank you to all who were able to attend the first meeting of the SPLS graduate student club. I know summer is a busy time, so have summarized notes from our meeting below.

President - Nick Desnoyer
Vice-president - Sofia Avelar
Treasurer - Shuzo Oita
Public relations officer - Seth Steichen
Secretary -

At this time the position of secretary is still open. This person will be responsible for setting up meetings and taking the minutes from each meeting.

We will be meeting every two weeks to discuss any topics or issues. Our next meeting will be sometime the week of June 25. I will send out an email as we get closer with the exact date, time, and location once I confirm availability with the officers.

Some of the topics that we discussed at the last meeting and would like to take action on include 1) annual graduate student meetings with the SPLS director, 2) the pay difference between SPLS and MCB, and 3) graduate student group activities for the coming year. If any of these issues interest you, please plan on attending future meetings!
