Dear Faculty and Students,

The School of Plant Sciences participates in recruiting graduate students through the Arizona Biological and Biomedical Sciences Program (ABBS). This year there will be three ABBS Recruitment Weekends (Thursday-Saturday): January 21-23, February 11-13, and February 18-20.

Below is the tentative schedule. Requested faculty involvement is in bold and student involvement is marked with **.

Students: if you are interested in helping out by participating in any of the activities highlighted with ** please email Georgina. We will also need support escorting applicants during the faculty interviews.

Remember there are 3 weekends of recruitment so the more students to pitch in the better! Faculty, we would love a great turnout from all, and especially those who are looking to take on students.

Thursday
6:00 – 8:00pm
Dinner and Scientific Poster Session in Bio5 103 or MRB 102
Who is invited: Applicants, Faculty and Student Presenters** from labs who are seeking new students

Friday
8:30 – 10:00
Breakfast, Welcome/Program overview and Faculty Presentations

10:00-Noon
Faculty I​interviews

12:30 – 2:00
Lunch & Informal Q&A session with current ABBS students in MRB 102 and Lobby
Students** participating in Q&A, Faculty are welcome to come

2:30 – 5:00
Faculty interviews

6:00-8:00 pm
Dinner reception with Faculty and current students** in Hall of Champions or Arizona State Museum

Saturday
9:00 – 11:00
Activity with students**, local attraction (Sabino Canyon, Desert Museum, etc.)
