We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for the student-organized UC Davis Plant Breeding Symposium<http://plantbreeding2016.ucdavis.edu/>, an annual event which brings together researchers in academia, industry, and the non-profit sector to discuss the latest advances in the field of plant breeding. This year's theme is "Breeding for Stress Resilience" and we have invited speakers from around the world to present on this highly relevant and important topic.

Call for abstracts: Graduate students and post-doctoral researchers are invited to submit poster abstracts on their plant science related research. Two outstanding graduate student abstracts will be selected for a 15-minute oral presentation. Please submit your abstracts by March 15 here: http://plantbreeding2016.ucdavis.edu/abstracts/


Student travel grants: we are pleased to offer 5 x $500 travel grants for graduate students outside of the Davis area to attend and present at our symposium. To apply, simply submit your abstract and register by February 29.


The Symposium is made possible through sponsorship from DuPont Pioneer, the UC Davis Department of Plant Sciences, the UC Davis Plant Breeding Center, and UC Davis Graduate Student Association.
