GradSense - Financial Information for Graduate Students
The Council of Graduate Schools provides a nice financial tool for grad students. GradSense is an online education platform that provides students with important financial information about the value of pursuing an advanced degree. The website is based on data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the National Science Foundation and the National Center for Education Statistics. Along with median debt and income data, the GradSense website also provides students with loan repayment advice, spending tips, and career guidance.

Workshop on NSF Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grants - April 1

Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad (FH DDRA) Fellowship
The purpose of the FH DDRA fellowship is to contribute to the development and improvement of the study of modern foreign languages and area studies in the U.S. by supporting full-time dissertation research abroad. Research projects must focus on one or more of the following geographic areas: Africa, East Asia, Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands, South Asia, the Near East, Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia, and the Western Hemisphere. Research in Western Europe and the U.S. and its territories is not supported by this grant.

Japanese Association of University Women (JAUW) International Fellowship Program
The Japanese Association of University Women (JAUW) announces the availability of fellowships for women who are carrying out or would like to carry out independent research or advanced study at the postgraduate level in Japan. Applicants must have received a Master's degree or its equivalent and/or be in the pre-doctoral or dissertation level of a PhD program. Applicants must have an acceptance letter from a host institution in Japan.

National Wildlife Federation EcoLeader Graduate Student Research Fellowships
NWF is seeking graduate students in the U.S. to conduct and test market research and business planning and assist with content development for the new NWF EcoLeaders online community. There will be two track options for the Fellowship, Market Research and Content Development. The Market Research track fellows will conduct researching and testing for NWF EcoLeaders, selecting among priority market segments, including one or more of the following: student government, journalism, business, education, fraternities and sororities, etc. Based on their findings, the Fellows will develop and test at least two suggested plans for improving our efforts and in the process of their research will recruit a minimum of 25 new EcoLeaders to the site each. The content development track fellows will focus on developing new and supporting content for the EcoLeaders site building out resource offerings on current "Eco-Topic" pages and recognition pages and developing content for new Eco-Topic pages including Outdoor Recreation, Climate Adaptation and the Career and Leadership Center.

Society for the History of Technology Kranzberg Dissertation Fellowship
The Melvin Kranzberg Dissertation Fellowship is presented annually to a doctoral student engaged in the preparation of a dissertation on the history of technology, broadly defined. The $4,000 award is unrestricted and may be used in any way that the winner chooses to advance the research and writing of his or her dissertation. Possible uses include underwriting the costs of travel to archival collections; photocopying or microfilming; translation of documents; and so on. The award may not be used for university tuition or fees.

UA Commission on the Status of Women Mini-Grants
CSW offers competitive funding for faculty, staff and student projects that promote equity and inclusion through its mini-grants program. The maximum award amount per project is $1,500; requests average $400-600 per project. Partial funding may be granted. Applicants may submit proposals for multiple projects. Please provide a separate application for each project. Preference will be given to first-time applicants.

Funding Opportunities in the Humanities/Arts/Social Sciences
Alliance for Historical Dialogue Fellowship Program
The Institute for the Study of Human Rights (ISHR) at Columbia University is now accepting applications to its residence Fellowship for Historical Dialogue and Accountability. Practitioners of historical dialogue and accountability from conflict, post-conflict and post-dictatorial societies will have the opportunity to engage in training, networking, project work, academic and applied study. The comprehensive program provides Fellows with the opportunity to hone practical skills in fundraising, advocacy and leadership, to develop a deeper understanding of dealing with the past, and to foster mutually beneficial relationships with their peers and with international and non-profit organizations in New York City and Washington, DC. The Program is designed for NGO practitioners, journalists, lawyers, teachers, social workers, community organizers, and others working on issues including (but not limited to) transitional justice, truth and reconciliation, historical conflict, indigenous and minority rights, social accountability, memory studies, oral history, sites of memory and related areas where historical dialogue is a central component. Preference will be given to those who can demonstrate an established work record of several years relating to historical dialogue and accountability.

The Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee Theatre Research Institute invites fellowship applications by scholars who wish to do research that requires significant use of the Institute's collections. The fellowship is for the period of at least one month. The Lawrence and Lee Theatre Research Institute holdings include design and technical theatre collections, personal papers, and organizational archives.

Monique Wittig Writer's Scholarship (UA only)
This scholarship honors the life and work of Monique Wittig, French novelist, poet and social theorist. Wittig was a professor at the University of Arizona, Tucson from 1990 to 2003. First published as a novelist, Monique Wittig's fiction revolutionized French literature. Mary McCarthy called her "the best writer anywhere of her generation." Wittig's fiction, as well as theoretical writing, has had a fundamental and worldwide impact upon feminist theory and lesbian and gay theory. This scholarship is open to writers in all fields including literature, film, theater, poetry, essays and new/mixed media.

Phil Zwickler Memorial Research Grants for the Human Sexuality Collection
Cornell University Library's Division of Rare and Manuscript Collections (RMC) is accepting applications for the Phil Zwickler Memorial Research Grants, which provide financial assistance to scholars conducting research on sexuality. Any researcher with a project that can be augmented by research in the Human Sexuality Collection, a program in the RMC that encourages the study of sexuality and sexual politics by preserving relevant primary sources that document historical shifts in the social construction of sexuality, and related sources is eligible to apply. One or more awards of up to $1,350 will be made. Applications are due March 31.

Rocky Mountain Modern Language Association (RMMLA) Huntington Library Research/Residency Grant
In conjunction with the Huntington Library in San Marino, CA, the RMMLA offers a $3,000 stipend to support one month of residency and research at the Library. The Huntington Library has a rich collection of rare books and manuscripts principally in the fields of British and American history and literature. Other research strengths include 15th-century books, history of science, and maritime history.

Crop Science Society of America - Gerald O. Mott Scholarship for Meritorious Graduate Students
The Gerald O. Mott Scholarship is provided to a meritorious graduate student in crop science. The scholarship is supported by gifts from the Gerald O. Mott family to the Agronomic Science Foundation (ASA) and administered by the Crop Science Society of America(CSSA). Nominees will have completed at least one year of graduate work leading to a M.S. or Ph.D. degree in a field of emphasis within any of the CSSA divisions. Department of Energy Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) Program
The goal of the Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) program is to prepare graduate students for science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) careers critically important to the DOE Office of Science mission, by providing graduate thesis research opportunities at DOE laboratories. The SCGSR program provides supplemental awards to outstanding U.S. graduate students to pursue part of their graduate thesis research at a DOE laboratory in areas that address scientific challenges central to the Office of Science mission. The research opportunity is expected to advance the graduate students' overall doctoral thesis while providing access to the expertise, resources, and capabilities available at the DOE laboratories. The SCGSR program provides supplemental funds for graduate awardees to conduct part of their thesis research at a host DOE laboratory in collaboration with a DOE laboratory scientist within a defined award period. The award period for the proposed research project at DOE laboratories may range from 3 to 12 consecutive months.

Singapore International Graduate Award
The Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) was first conceived to foster a vibrant and culturally diverse research community in Singapore. A joint collaboration between A*STAR, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), National University of Singapore (NUS) and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), the SINGA welcomes all international students to pursue a PhD education in Singapore. Under the SINGA, students will receive PhD training at their chosen lab at A*STAR Research Institutes or one of the three top universities in Asia - NUS, NTU or SUTD. Students will work in a multi-cultural environment, alongside distinguished and world-renowned researchers in state-of-the-art facilities. Singapore is the gateway to some of the fastest- growing economies in the Asia-Pacific region.

The National Endowment for the Humanities, a federal agency in Washington, D.C., administers a fellowships program that provides financial support for individuals who wish to pursue scholarly research projects in the humanities. Recipients usually produce articles, monographs, books, digital materials, archaeological site reports, translations, editions, or other scholarly resources in the humanities.

Obesity Society Early Career Research Grants
This program is offered by The Obesity Society (TOS), as a member service, to foster and stimulate new research ideas in any area of investigation related to obesity. The program targets junior-level investigators and post-doctoral trainees by funding proposals that demonstrate a high likelihood of resulting in new and innovative approaches in obesity research. Early-career investigators are defined as individuals who have received a PhD within the past five years or MD within the past eight years and who currently hold full-time, entry-level positions (e.g., post-doctoral fellow, instructor, assistant professor) at an established academic/research institution.
