[Plsgs] Graduate student invited seminar speaker

Hi everyone,



We invited Dr. Leon Kochian last semester (
http://css.cals.cornell.edu/people/faculty.cfm?netId=lvk1) to present as
our graduate student-invited speaker in our seminar series, but he was
unable to come due to poor weather conditions.  His seminar has been
rescheduled to Tuesday, October 28, 2014.


The title of his talk is, "Building a Molecular Toolbox for Improving
Cereal Crop Adaptation to Acid Soils."  I've attached a couple of papers of
his if you would like to familiarize yourself with his research.  Also, the
website for his lab is http://www.plantmineralnutrition.net.


We are very lucky to have this opportunity to invite a seminar speaker so
take advantage of the numerous ways you can interact with Dr. Kochian.
These include individual or joint research meetings, lunch, and dinner on
Tuesday.  Would you please let me know in which of these activities you
would like to participate?  If you would like time for a research meeting,
can you please tell me the times you are available on October 28th, if you
want to meet with him alone or with other students (which ones) and if you
want 30 or 45 minutes.  If I don’t hear from you by Wednesday, September 1st,
I will assume that you cannot meet with him.
