Christine Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program
The Christine Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program provides early career individuals with the opportunity to spend 12 weeks at the National Academies in Washington, DC learning about science and technology policy and the role that scientists and engineers play in advising the nation. An immersive experience, the program is designed to broaden fellows' appreciation of employment opportunities outside academia and leave them with both a firm grasp of the important and dynamic role of science and technology in decision-making and a better understanding of the role that they can play in strengthening the science and technology enterprise for the betterment of mankind. The 12-week fellowship session will begin on January 20, 2015 and end on April 10, 2015. The stipend for the 2015 session will be $8500. Open to most fields including social science, business, and law.

Gates Cambridge Scholarships
Gates Cambridge Scholarships are prestigious, highly competitive full-cost scholarships. Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans
Thirty Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans will be awarded in 2013 on the basis of a single national competition. Each fellowship supports up to two years of graduate study - in any field and in any advanced degree-granting program - in the United States. Each award is for up to $25,000 in maintenance grants and up to $20,000 in tuition support for each year of graduate study supported, a total of as much as $90,000. Applicants must not yet be 31 years old, as of the application deadline and not beyond their second year, if already enrolled, in a graduate degree program.

American Educational Research Association Dissertation Grants
With support from the National Science Foundation (NSF), the AERA Grants Program announces its Dissertation Grants competition. The program seeks to stimulate research on U.S. education issues using data from the large-scale, national and international data sets supported by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), NSF, and other federal agencies, and to increase the number of education researchers using these data sets. The program supports research projects that are quantitative in nature, include the analysis of existing data from NCES, NSF or other federal agencies, and have U.S. education policy relevance. AERA invites education-related dissertation proposals using NCES, NSF, and other federal data bases. Dissertation Grants are available for advanced doctoral students and are intended to support the student while writing the doctoral dissertation. Applications are encouraged from a variety of disciplines, such as but not limited to, education, sociology, economics, psychology, demography, statistics, and psychometrics.

Grammy Foundation- Grants in Music Research and Preservation Projects
Funded by the Recording Academy, the Grammy Foundation's research projects grant program awards funding of up to $20,000 to organizations and individuals working to research the impact of music on the human condition. Examples include the study of the effects of music on mood, cognition, and healing; the medical and occupational well-being of music professionals; and the creative process underlying music. The archiving and preservation projects grant program awards grants to organizations and individuals in support of efforts that advance the archiving and preservation of the music and recorded sound heritage of the Americas. The archiving and preservation area has two funding categories - preservation implementation (grants of up to $20,000) and planning, assessment and/or consultation (grants of up to $5,000).

History and Philosophy of Medicine Fellowships
The fellowships are intended to attract scholars to the Clendening Library and University of Kansas Medical Center Archives who will carry out research in the history of medicine, nursing, allied health and related sciences. The Department will grant fellowships to interested scholars whose research topics are well-suited to the varied collections housed in the library and archives. The Department intends to grant fellowships with the aim of attracting scholars from a wide range of academic levels, including professors, independent researchers, graduate students in the dissertation stage of their degrees, and postgraduate students pursuing advanced scholarship. The department will grant fellowships for a period of two to four weeks. The amount of the fellowships will be $500.00 per week for 2-4 weeks, with a maximum of $2,000.00, to cover expenses, with an additional one-time travel stipend of $500 for scholars from outside of the Kansas City area

Kauffman Dissertation Fellowship in Entrepreneurship
The Kauffman Dissertation Fellowship Program (KDFP) is an annual competitive program that awards up to 15 Dissertation Fellowship grants of $15,000 each to Ph.D., D.B.A., or other doctoral students at accredited U.S. universities to support dissertations in the area of entrepreneurship. This program helps launch the careers of emerging world-class entrepreneurship scholars, who have gone on to find positions in top-tier universities, research arms of federal agencies, and private industry, thus laying a foundation for future scientific advancement. The findings generated by this effort will be translated into knowledge with immediate application for policymakers, educators, service providers, and entrepreneurs as well as high-quality academic research.

NSF Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences (SBE) Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grants in Decision, Risk, and Management Sciences (DRMS)
The DRMS Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement grants are designed to cover expenses such as travel, special equipment, and participation fees. Outstanding proposals specify how the knowledge to be created advances our theoretical understanding of the subject.

Ucross Foundation- Spring 2015 Artist Residencies
Founded in 1981, the Ucross Foundation provides uninterrupted time, work space, and living accommodations to competitively selected visual artists, writers, and composers. Nearly thirteen hundred individuals from every state in the U.S. as well as Germany, France, Scotland, England, Poland, Egypt, the Netherlands, Canada, and Thailand have spent time at Ucross since it first opened. Currently, the foundation is accepting applications for its 2015 Spring Residency program, which runs from late-February to mid-June. Residencies vary in length from two weeks to six weeks. At any one time, there are up to nine individuals in residence, representing a mix of visual artists, writers, and composers. In most cases, studios are separate from living quarters. Most meals are provided, and there is cell phone service on the property as well as wireless Internet connection for resident use. Residents are responsible for providing their own working materials and for their travel to Sheridan, Wyoming. There is no charge for a residency. Artists, writers, and composers from the United States and around the globe in any stage of their professional careers are invited to apply.

Yavapai Symphony Association Music Scholarship Award
The Yavapai Symphony Association Music Scholarship Award has been established as an annual project of the Association to be funded from annual accumulated earnings from the Endowment Fund of the Yavapai Symphony Association (the Endowment Fund), scholarship grants, and patron scholarship donations. Applicants shall be on track to graduate from an accredited secondary school as determined by the State of Arizona or shall be a full time student at an accredited institution of higher learning. Applicants must be music majors and plan to enroll or be enrolled in an accredited institution of higher learning. Preferential consideration will be given to applicants with a strong interest in classical music.

Demonstration of Energy-Efficient Developments (DEED) Student Research Grants and Internships
DEED student research grants and internships support students studying in energy-related disciplines, increase awareness of career opportunities in public power, and provide assistance to DEED member utility sponsors. Each year student research grants and internships are awarded to students conducting research on an energy-related project. Students must be sponsored by a DEED member utility and are required to write an abstract and final report at the completion of the project.

Graduate Fellowship Program for Medical Applications
The purpose of fellowship is to recognize and provide financial assistance to graduate students who show promise and interest in pursuing a graduate degree in applying microwave engineering to medical applications. The student must be actively pursuing a graduate degree in electrical engineering, applied physics, biomedical engineering or other appropriate field on a full-time basis at an accredited institution of higher learning.

Methane Hydrate Graduate Fellowship Program (MHFP)
The National Research Council, in association with the U.S. Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), administers a Research Fellowship Program designed to support the development of Methane Hydrate science and enable highly qualified graduate and postgraduate students to pursue advanced degrees and training in an area of increasing national interest. With respect to the energy production potential of gas hydrates, interest is in projects that will provide improved tools, methods, and information relative to the remote detection, characterization, and appraisal of production potential of Methane Hydrates. With respect to gas hydrates as a part of the global environment, interest is in projects that provide an improved understanding of the processes that control the distribution, occurrence, and stability of gas hydrates in marine and permafrost settings. These fellowships are available to support work towards the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees, or to support a Postdoctoral appointment. Research during the term of the fellowship can be performed at any federal lab or accredited university in the United States.

NIH Predoctoral Fellowships (F31) to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research
Provides up to five years of support for research training leading to the *Ph.D. or equivalent research degree; the combined MD/Ph.D. degree; or other combined professional degree and research doctoral degree in the biomedical, behavioral, health services, or clinical sciences. This initiative seeks to improve the diversity of the health-related research workforce by supporting the training of predoctoral students from groups that have been shown to be underrepresented. Such candidates include individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, individuals with disabilities, and individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. The fellowship award provides an annual stipend, an allowance for tuition and fees, and an annual institutional allowance.

National Science Foundation (NSF Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grants (DDIG) in the Biological Sciences
The National Science Foundation awards Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grants in selected areas of the biological sciences. Proposals must fall within the scope of any of the clusters in the Division of Environmental Biology (DEB) or the Behavioral Systems Cluster in the Division of Integrative Organismal Systems (IOS). These grants provide partial support of doctoral dissertation research for improvement beyond the already existing project. Allowed are costs for doctoral candidates to participate in scientific meetings, to conduct research in specialized facilities or field settings, and to expand an existing body of dissertation research. A student must have advanced to candidacy for a Ph.D. degree before the submission deadline to be eligible to submit a proposal.

Angelman Syndrome Foundation- Joseph E. Wagstaff Postdoctoral Fellowship
The Angelman Syndrome Foundation strives to improve the lives of those with Angelman syndrome and their families by supporting research on the clinical and basic science aspects of the Angelman syndrome. To that end, ASF seeks applications for postdoctoral fellowships in preclinical, translational, and clinical research on all aspects of Angelman syndrome. The purpose of the award is to promote Angelman syndrome-related research by a young investigator, support novel research initiatives, and further existing Angelman-related research projects. The amount of the award equals $55,000 per year for two years, contingent on an adequate progress report during the first year.

Burroughs Wellcome Fund-ASTMH Postdoctoral Fellowship in Tropical Infectious Diseases
The Burroughs Wellcome Fund-ASTMH Postdoctoral Fellowship in Tropical Infectious Diseases was established in 1999 to support career development of physician/scientists focused on infectious diseases of the developing world. Thanks to a generous grant from the Burroughs Wellcome Fund, these fellowships provide funding for selected individuals to conduct research in tropical infectious diseases (and, on occasion, other clinical conditions unique to tropical medicine). The fellowship is designed to stimulate or sustain interest in research in tropical infectious diseases by individuals who are planning academic or other career paths ultimately focused on clinical research relevant to tropical or developing areas of the world.

Developmental Neuroscience and Behavior Postdoctoral Fellowship
The program is an NIMH-funded postdoctoral program for M.D.s and Ph.D.s that focuses on the interplay of psychological and biological processes as these contribute to new knowledge about the etiology of clinical disease. The emphasis is on an experimental approach to an understanding of physiological and behavioral processes in early development and in stress-related syndromes in adulthood.
