[Plsgs] Journal club, spring 2015

Dear graduate students and faculty colleagues,

I'm writing to invite all SPLS graduate students to sign up for our
school-wide 'SPLS Journal Club' for spring 2015 (PLS/PLP 695A, section 001).

This course will be co-led by Mark Beilstein and me. Topics will center on
cutting-edge research in plant and microbial sciences, with the aim of
helping students cultivate critical-thinking skills for evaluating and
building from the primary literature. Meeting times will be set based on
the schedules of students who enroll.

Enrolling in the course will fulfill one semester of the graduate
requirement for journal club experiences (required: two semesters, MS
students; four semesters, PhD students). Students are highly recommended to
satisfy the journal club requirement through in this course, which our
faculty have committed to offer every spring.
