On Behalf of Monica Schmidt:

Hello Graduate Students,
The Dean has asked the CALS Cyberinfrastructure Advisory Group to recommend a CALS student to represent the college on the UA Information Technology Student Advisory Board (see message below).

If you are a student in CALS and are interested in representing the College in this advisory capacity, please me your name and contact email for consideration. Please keep in mind that, as part of representing all CALS students, you need not be expert in all areas of technology but you should be interested in this area.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Regards,
Monica Schmidt

The Information Technology Student Advisory Board (ITSAB), sponsored by the University CIO, serves as the deliberating body on the use of the student IT fee. ITSAB is a student run board convened to serve as the voice of the student body at large in monitoring the use of the fee, providing advice and guidance on student technology needs, developing and conducting an annual technology survey to collect information from students, researching topics of interest, and assessing the outcomes of student technology initiatives. The work of this Board has been invaluable in the last several years as we've made significant investments in tools and services that directly impact the students.

The membership of ITSAB is compromised of student representatives from the campus at-large, GPSC, and ASUA. In past years, members were recruited through an application process. This year, in an effort to ensure a more comprehensive representation of campus, we would like to take a different approach by recruiting a student representative from each college. To be sure College of Agriculture & Life Sciences is represented, I invite you to appoint a student to represent your college. The Board convenes once a month throughout the fall and spring semesters.

Now that the semester is under way, we are planning our kickoff meeting for late September so I would appreciate having the name of your student by Sept. 9th.

Having the student's input about information technology, as represented through this Board, is extremely important to me as we define the technological future of our institution. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions or concern. Additional information about the Board, including the charter, can be found at itsab.arizona.edu<http://itsab.arizona.edu>. I look forward to receiving the name of your appointee.

Thank you,
