TRIF Imaging Fellowship Program for Graduate

Students

Program:

The University of Arizona supports a fellowship program for graduate
students who are pursuing

a doctoral degree focused on the science, technology, or applications of
imaging. Graduate students in the physical sciences, mathematics,
engineering, biological sciences, or social sciences are encouraged to
apply. The TRIF Imaging Fellowship is available for the 2013/2014 academic
year.

Support and Eligibility:

Students must be in a Ph.D. degree program at the University of Arizona and
working under the

direction of a member of the University of Arizona faculty. A central focus
of the applicant's research work should be related to the development and/or
novel utilization of imaging systems. Preference will be given to students
who have passed their comprehensive written and oral exams and are actively
involved in research work leading to their doctoral degree. Students
accepted into the program will receive half of their RA support from the
Imaging Fellowship during the 2013/2014 academic year (not including summer
support). It is expected that the student's advisor will provide the other
half of the student's RA support. Students can receive support from the TRIF
Imaging Fellowship only one time during their graduate program. All
students receiving support will be expected to participate in a monthly
seminar series on imaging and to write a final report on research
accomplishments during the fellowship period.

Application:

Students applying to this program should send: 1) a CV with current GPA and
status (e.g. 3rd year student passed comprehensive exam), and 2) a 1-2 page
write-up briefly describing their dissertation research project and their
long-term career objectives. A letter from the sponsoring faculty member is
also required and should state the advisor's assessment of the student's
ability and commitment to supply the other half of the RA stipend during the
2013/2014 academic year. Interested students or faculty can contact Ms.
Dyann Garcia (dgarcia at radiology.arizona.edu) to inquire about the fellowship
program. The deadline for receipt of applications is April 26, 2013.
