All TA's for Spring 13 SPSL classes please note training registration below:
Registration for the Spring 2013 GATO (Graduate Assistant Teaching
Orientation) is now available! Hip-Hip-Hooray! GATO will be held on January
7, 2013 from 1:00pm-4:00pm in the Pacheco Integrated Learning Center (ILC)
Room 120. Please visit http://grad.arizona.edu/ta/gato/registration for more
information on GATO.
Please note that GATO is designed to prepare a Graduate Teaching
Assistant/Associate (GTA) at the University of Arizona to become a competent
and effective teacher. GATO is mandatory, and must be completed before a TA
may begin instructional duties. There are no make-up sessions allowed for
GATO so please help us in making sure that all students who need this
training attend. The iGATO portion is no longer required.
(***Please also be aware that TATO (Teaching Assistant Training Online) is
another mandatory training for all GTA's, and must be completed before they
start in their positions. There are many students who will need to complete
this requirement. These students will also be sent an email soon reminding
them of this. If you can remind your students early that they need to
complete this mandatory requirement, it would save us (and you) a lot of
time and hassle. You can find information about TATO here:
http://grad.arizona.edu/ta/tato/login . We greatly appreciate all the help
we can get in making sure that these students are fully prepared for their
GTA positions! ***)
If you have any questions or concerns please let Julie Treanor or I know.
Thank you and have a wonderful day!
Kind Regards,
