On Behalf of Dr. Schumaker:
Hi Everyone,
I will not be able to offer PLS 560 in fall 2012. Instead, I will offer PLS
595B (Current topics in Plant Science-Advanced) as a one credit course that
meets once each week. Early in the semester, we will talk about and learn
how to read and discuss research in the primary literature. Once we are
comfortable doing this, we will read broadly in the literature with a number
of papers that I will choose. The last several weeks of the semester will
be devoted to discussions led by students in the course of a paper of their
choosing (in consultation with me).
The course is open to all graduate students. We will meet in Marley 441H,
but will need to come up with a day and time that is convenient for as many
interested students as possible. Will you please let me know if you will
take the course and, if so, which of the following days/times would fit your
schedule.
Mondays 4:00-5:00 PM
Tuesdays 2:00-3:00 PM
Wednesdays 3:00-4:00 PM
Thursdays 2:00-3:00 PM
I hope that you are able to join me and I am happy to answer any questions.
Best regards.
