Position description:
La Aldea is a unique multicultural and academic community. Of our nearly
300 graduate student residents, approximately 35% are international
students. La Aldea has seven Community Resident Assistants (CRAs) who live
in our community to assist residents. The CRAs work to provide quality
programming opportunities for our residents to help build community within
La Aldea. CRAs build relationships with residents, assist students in their
transition to the University of Arizona and Tucson, serve as academic role
models, assess and address the needs of the community, and encourage
residents to take ownership of La Aldea. Another priority of the CRAs is to
monitor the safety and security of the community by taking part in an
on-call rotation, and documenting violations of community standards. The
CRA position is a 12 month, live-in position, as La Aldea is open all year.
There are two parts to the application: Part 1(Basic Information) and Part 2
(Experiences & Skills); please complete both parts. Additionally, you must
attach one letter of reference with your application. This letter must be
from a professional at a university who is able to speak to your character
and experiences relevant to this position.
If you believe you have the skills and desire to be a CRA in the La Aldea
community, please fill out the attached application. You will be invited to
interview for a CRA position based on the success of your application. If
you have questions about this process, please contact the La Aldea
Coordinator of Graduate and International Student Housing, Amanda Brobbel,
at brobbel at life.arizona.edu.
Thank you for your interest,
Amanda Brobbel
Coordinator of Graduate and International Student Housing
