Subject: DAAD - UA Priority Candidate

The UA has the opportunity to nominate one priority candidate to the German
Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for either the Study Scholarship or
Research Grant.

The attached materials provide guidance to students who wish to apply.
Please forward to strong potential candidates with an interest in studying
or conducting Ph.D. research or a postdoc in Germany.

Additional information may be found at:
http://www.daad.org/page/scholarship/index.v3page

Eligibility Requirements:

Study Scholarship

Graduating seniors (fourth-year students in Canada), graduate students and
recent graduates who have completed their Bachelor's degrees no longer than
six years before the application deadline are welcome to apply. Students who
are in the first year of a full Master's degree program in Germany may also
apply to fund their second year of the Master's programs. Special
requirements for students in the Arts should be reviewed.

Research Grant

Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States or
Canada. Foreign nationals are eligible if they have been full-time
students/scholars at an accredited US or Canadian University for at least
two years at the time of application. Ph.D. candidates should have ABD
status and Post Docs should have completed degrees two or four years prior
to application (depending on the length of time they are applying to conduct
research).

Students may apply as non-priority candidates on their own.

Students interested in submitting an application should contact
gehlers at grad.arizona.edu by Oct. 14.
