Dr. Kenneth L. Cole, a distinguished research ecologist who earned his Ph.D. in Geosciences from the University of Arizona. Dr. Cole made significant and lasting contributions to the understanding of vegetation history in the American West.

 His research at the Desert Laboratory on Tumamoc Hill put him at the forefront in the fields of paleoecology and paleoclimatology.</i></span></p>
