Barry has been a member of our faculty in Plant Pathology and later, in Plant Sciences, since joining the University in 2001. His work in plant pathology and plant health more broadly, the systematics of the important fungal genus Alternaria, and most recently,
on mushroom production has always been impactful. We have appreciated his teaching in Plant Pathology and his engagement of the next generation in the world of plant health and mycology in introductory courses, undergraduate mentoring, graduate mentoring,
and more. </div>
