Hello Matt and PLS Faculty,

Thank you Amanda for recently provided Furlough financial information (copied below). From what I understand, there are still some of the furlough-derived salary savings available in this unit. I would like to request that there be an
open discussion at the next faculty meeting about the optimum means that faculty want these funds to be utilized. As I have been advocating since Aug 2021 in this unit, it would go a long way to improve morale if some of the allocation of funds were decided
by the faculty and might directly support the current faculty rather than saved for possible future startup funds.

Furlough- Information: I wanted to provide an update about the Furlough Funds. CALS saved a total of $1,473,462 as a result of the Furlough during the last fiscal year. A few other data points: $1.34M was provided from 239 faculty
taking 15.9k hours of Furlough, $408k was provided from 268 staff taking 12.1k hours of Furlough.

SPLS saved a total of $193,824 during the Furlough. These funds were included in the

of $677,736 of the $3million loan that CALS had to provide to campus. To date,
