Many of these opportunities are associated with the renewal of TRIF funds for a proposal we wrote with the VPR to support UA work at the intersections of water, environment and energy and solutions (WEES). We want to invest the funds to support excellent research at UA and support faculty and departments. That is why we have developed this special email alert for department heads and deans with environmental, energy and water faculty so that you are aware of these opportunities. <br><br>We have established an advisory committee for WEES of leading UA researchers and all competitions are reviewed by peer/faculty selection committees. There are some limits on how we can spend the funds and we are expected to generate return on investment for the university overall. The attached file provides details on eligibility, funding amounts, and deadlines. Of particular note are mid-February deadlines for grants for equipment, capacity building workshops, and (for grad students) fellowships and travel. Note that faculty can request match for proposals. Please help us spread the word and encourage proposals.
