The contract confirms your salary, funding sources, and title (s) as well as your address plus defines the terms and conditions of your employment at the UA. This year the process will be a bit different.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>As the University has been doing for the past several years, the processes are becoming electronic or on-line. Therefore, when your contracts are ready to be signed. This will be done on-line via the UAccess System in the Self Service section where you complete your timesheets. The signature component will be electronic based by you accepting the contract via the acceptance button.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Once, all the reviews have been done by HR, CALS and me for your contracts, Joy or I will release the contract electronically for your signature. You will receive an email notification to sign/accept the contract in the UAccess System in the Self Service menu. Please note that this option in not yet available in your UAccess and will not be until the contract is released.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Also, another important fact is that you all will not be notified at the same time to sign/accept your contract. We will be doing the contract release in batches. Therefore, do not worry if a colleague has been notified and you have not. You will be notified in a timely manner.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>As for printing the contract, you will have the option to do so from UAccess. We will not print them for you, as your real signature will not be acceptable – you must accept this contract electronically. But, if you do not want a printed copy, the system will always maintain your contracts from here on out. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Another note, this new system is only applicable for appointed personnel – faculty, post doc, research scientist, and such.
